Health and Disability

50% of the world's population has no access to essential health services

In 2017, the WHO (World Health Organisation) published a press release stating that more than half the world's population has no access to basic healthcare. Every year, several families are plunged into poverty because of health-related expenses. That's why Break Solidaire is taking action to support people with disabilities and facilitate access to healthcare for all.

Break Solidaire works in two areas

Facilitating access to healthcare for people in need

2

Acquiring assistive equipment for people with disabilities

France and Overseas

In France and overseas, Break Solidaire sets up actions such as:

  • Helping people in need to meet the administrative requirements for access to their care.

  • Identifying people with disabilities who need help acquiring the equipment they need to make their lives easier. The association buys the equipment and donates it to the people identified.

"Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in healthcare is the most shocking and inhumane"

Martin Luther King

International

Internationally, Break Solidaire, through its partners, implements actions such as:

  • Partnerships with medical centres and doctors to facilitate access to care for people in need and support them in their healthcare pathway.

  • Identifying people with disabilities who need help to acquire the equipment they need to make their lives easier. The association buys the equipment and donates it to the people it identifies
