Water and Nutrition

30% of the world's population has no access to food and water

In 2017, the WHO published a report highlighting that a large number of the world's population has no access to water and food, particularly in rural areas. That's why Break Solidaire is working to set up projects to enable people in need to eat and drink properly.

Break Solidaire works in three areas

France and Overseas

In France and overseas, Break Solidaire sets up actions such as:

  • Helping people to fill in the forms required to receive food aid and putting them in contact with associations specialising in collecting food for the needy

  • Collecting and redistributing the food to associations specialising in food aid for the needy

  • Events enabling people in need to pick up a shopping basket to finish off the month

  • Setting up emergency parcels via the "The moi(s) solidaire" operation to help people in imminent need.

International

Internationally, Break Solidaire, through its partners, implements actions such as:

  • Drinking water wells (as an emergency measure) and water tower boreholes to supply entire villages with drinking water. The water tower can also be used to water livestock.

  • The installation of piping networks enabling access to water directly in villagers' homes (if we obtain the necessary authorisations in the country and village in question).

  • Setting up farming points near the water points to supply the village with fruit and vegetables

  • Distributing ready-to-eat food to villages living in extreme poverty
