Education

20% of the world's children do not go to school

In 2018, UNESCO reports that more than one child in five in the world has no access to school. Education is the foundation of any society, opening the door to humanity and its civilisation. The more educated people are, the more autonomous they are, making it easier for them to escape poverty and have a positive impact on their country. That's why Break Solidaire has made education a priority.

Break Solidaire works in two areas

Bringing up children (aged 0 to 18); school education and learning a trade

2

Adult education (from age 19); learning a trade and professional support

France and Overseas

In France and overseas, Break Solidaire sets up actions such as:

  • Educational support for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to strengthen equality of opportunity at school

  • Helping young people and jobseekers of all ages back into work.

"It's thanks to a good education that the good of the world emerges"

Emmanuel Kant

International

Internationally, Break Solidaire, through its partners, is setting up infrastructures such as:

  • Primary and secondary schools that allow them to follow the same educational path as the rest of the country's pupils and to pursue higher education if they so wish.

  • Apprenticeship centres: from the age of 14, for children who do not wish to continue their studies and prefer to learn a "manual" trade. In any case, the child will continue to learn languages and mathematics until the age of 18.

  • Vocational centres: from the age of 19, to train adults in different trades and support them in upgrading their skills.
