Precariousness in France and Overseas
18.5% of the French population will be living below the poverty line in 2023
Since 2018, poverty in France and its overseas territories has stabilised at a high level (official information from INSEE). More and more individuals and families are finding it difficult to meet their day-to-day living expenses. Financial incapacity implies deprivations such as not having enough to eat or heating their homes properly. The acceleration of inflation in 2022 has weakened the purchasing power of many individuals and families. This inflation is affecting not only those with accommodation, but also, and even more so, the homeless and refugees living on the streets. Break Solidaire is sensitive to this situation, which ultimately destroys lives. That's why the association has decided to take action to support France's most vulnerable population.
16% of the French population do not have enough to eat
Break Solidaire supports individuals and families through its "The moi(s) solidaire" operation. The association enables people to eat their fill for several weeks while volunteers look for solutions to help them become more independent and get out of precarious situations.
23.2% of young people aged between 18 and 25 not in employment
Break Solidaire helps young and old alike to reintegrate into society. The association assesses the person's situation, helps them to get back on their feet (putting together administrative files) and shows them the way to become independent and active in their own lives.
