Food aid in Guiana

In French Guiana, foodstuffs are 39% more expensive than in mainland France, according to the INSEE study of 11 July 2023. Other services (health, clothing, leisure, etc.) are also more expensive. Studies also show that more than 50% of the population lives below the poverty line. As prices are higher in French Guiana, the average basket to feed a person for a month with enough to eat is €209. Break Solidaire is therefore proposing to help the local population by setting up the same system as in France. As the grocery delivery system is not developed in French Guiana, Break Solidaire has set up a local team to distribute food parcels to people in precarious situations.

DONATE TO GUIANA FOOD AID

When you make a donation to a Break Solidaire project, your donation is used solely for the project you wish to fund. The association takes 10% of your donation to cover administration costs. So 90% of your donation goes directly to the beneficiaries.

Good to know, Break Solidaire is an association of general interest, so 100% of your donation can be tax deductible up to 66% if you are an individual and 60% if you are a company. Break Solidaire issues a tax receipt for each of your donations.

Your generosity is essential if we are to help as many people in need as possible
